This is LEEA's technical presence in Australia and New Zealand. The postholder is the person a member calls when they have a technical question, and the person who represents LEEA credibly in front of operators, engineers, procurement teams and senior end users across the region. We are looking for someone who comes from the lifting industry and is respected in it. Technical authority is the foundation of the role, but it is not enough on its own: this person has to be able to walk a workshop floor, present in a head-office meeting, and hold their own in a tender conversation.
Key responsibilities
Act as the first point of technical contact for members across Australia and New Zealand, providing practical, timely guidance on lifting equipment, lifting operations, inspection and safe use.
Represent the authoritative LEEA position rather than personal opinion, referring questions requiring interpretation or formal position to the Technical Team at HQ.
Provide members with a clear, reliable route for technical enquiries, and maintain a record of enquiries and their resolution so that recurring issues become visible.
Respond to industry incidents, product concerns and regulatory questions raised by members or their customers through a structured LEEA process.
Conduct member site visits where a technical issue warrants direct observation, with written follow-up where appropriate.
Build LEEA's visibility and credibility with end users, asset owners, operators, principal contractors and major industry employers through consistent, planned engagement.
Deliver site visits, toolbox talks and head-office meetings, adapting content and register to the audience.
Represent LEEA at regional industry events, safety forums and member gatherings.
Attend member customer meetings, tender discussions and safety conversations where technical authority from LEEA adds weight to the member's case.
Produce clear, practical technical communication for the regional membership,



including standards and regulatory updates.
About you
Substantial hands-on experience in the lifting industry, lifting equipment, lifting operations, inspection, or a closely related safety-critical discipline, and standing among people who work in it.
Strong working knowledge of AS/NZS standards relevant to lifting equipment and of WHS regulatory requirements in Australia and New Zealand.
The judgement to know when to answer a technical question and when to refer it, and the discipline to represent an organisational position rather than a personal one.
Credible and confident across every level of a member business: workshop floor, engineers, procurement managers and senior end-user stakeholders.
Able to deliver technical training and briefings to member teams, including equipment-specific content, or the transparent capability and appetite to be developed into it.
Comfortable in commercial settings, tender conversations, customer meetings, supporting a member without taking over.
Self-motivated and effective working remotely, with the organisation to plan travel productively.
Willingness to travel extensively across Australia and New Zealand, with occasional international travel.
Full driving licence, passport holder, and the right to work in Australia or New Zealand.
