Indigeco is recruiting an APS5 Project Officer for our Commonwealth Government client. This role will support national public health surveillance programs focused on antimicrobial use and antimicrobial resistance.
You will support the Program Manager and Senior Project Officer with the day-to-day management of two national surveillance systems, including operational support, administrative coordination, secretariat support, stakeholder engagement, data governance, reporting and program administration.
This role is well suited to an APS5 project, program or administration professional with experience in health, science, laboratory operations, public health, surveillance programs, research, government or a similarly technical environment. Direct antimicrobial resistance experience is highly desirable, but not essential. The key requirement is a strong willingness to learn complex scientific concepts and support process-driven work within a technical team.
THE COMPANY
Our client is a Commonwealth Government agency delivering significant national health and disease surveillance outcomes. You will be working within a highly technical program environment that supports system integrity, stakeholder confidence and nationally relevant surveillance outputs.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Support day-to-day project and program coordination across national surveillance systems
Provide operational, administrative and secretariat support to the Program Manager and Senior Project Officer
Assist with contracts, procurement, funding administration and vendor coordination activities
Coordinate stakeholder engagement across internal teams, laboratories, service providers and technical specialists
Support data governance activities, data request management and user access processes
Assist with reporting, publications, communications, dashboards and analytics coordination
Maintain program documentation, meeting records, action registers, operational resources and process materials
YOUR REQUIREMENTS
APS5-level project, program, coordination, administration or secretariat experience
Experience working in a Commonwealth Government, health, science, technical, regulatory or research environment will be highly regarded
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines and process-driven tasks
Experience supporting contracts, procurement, stakeholder coordination or vendor administration will be highly regarded
Ability to work with technical teams and willingness to learn complex scientific concepts on the job
Public health, microbiology, pathology, laboratory operations, surveillance, epidemiology or broader health experience will be highly desirable
Current Baseline security clearance
