Furniture Store All-Rounder
and help give furniture a fresh start.
This is a physically active role focused on furniture cleaning, moving and handling furniture, assembly and repairs.
You'll regularly use upholstery steam-cleaning/extraction machines to clean sofas, assemble furniture, carry out small repairs and assist with loading and unloading.
You'll spend much of your shift on your feet, with tasks using cleaning equipment and basic hand tools, involving bending, lifting, and carrying. Appropriate equipment, practical guidance and team assistance are provided to help you work safely and efficiently.
This is a
part time position, with full-time opportunities available for the right candidate
, based at our Underwood store.
Key responsibilities
Clean sofas, upholstery and other furniture to prepare items for sale and delivery.
Assist with loading and unloading furniture for deliveries, collections and customer pickups.
Safely move and arrange furniture in the showroom and storage areas.
Carry out furniture repairs, touch-ups and basic assembly.
Assemble and disassemble furniture, including beds, tables and other items, as required.
Keep the showroom, storage areas,
tools and cleaning equipment clean and organised.
Support the team with other day-to-day store tasks as required.
Follow safe furniture-handling procedures and use tools and cleaning products correctly.
What we're looking for
A reliable, punctual person with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Someone who enjoys practical work and takes pride in a job well done.
Good attention to detail, especially when cleaning and checking furniture.
Ability to carry out physical tasks and move furniture safely using appropriate equipment and assistance.
Confidence using basic hand tools, or a willingness to learn.
Ability to follow instructions, work independently and support the team.
Experience in upholstery cleaning, furniture handling, minor repairs, assembly or warehouse work is an advantage.
