ABOUT THE FIRM
This boutique firm is centrally located in the Melbourne CBD and close to public transport. Known for its professionalism, supportive workplace culture and personalised approach, the team works across Family Law, Business Law, Property and Litigation. This is a varied opportunity supporting a Litigation Partner three days per week, with the remaining two days supporting the Family and Employment teams. It would suit an experienced Legal Assistant who enjoys variety and is looking for a role where they can build solid relationships across a close-knit team. The firm has a down-to-earth culture and genuinely values its people, with a strong focus on staff wellbeing, collaboration and long-term career growth.
THE ROLE
This is a full-time position, working five days in the office. While there may be some flexibility to work from home down the track, the firm is ideally looking for someone who is comfortable being office based given the split nature of the role.
The Litigation Partner is described as a genuinely lovely person who is very well regarded across the firm. He is respectful, clear in his communication and easy to work with, making this a great opportunity to work alongside someone who genuinely values their support. Responsibilities will include:
Diary and email management
Liaising with clients, barristers and other external stakeholders
Drafting and formatting legal documents
Preparing briefs and court documents
Managing correspondence and file administration
Organising meetings, functions and travel
Billing and general administrative support
Providing broader administrative support across the Family and Employment teams
ABOUT YOU
You will be a confident and experienced Legal Assistant who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and is comfortable supporting across different areas of law. Ideally, you will bring:
Previous Legal Assistant experience, ideally within Litigation, Family or Employment Law
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Strong attention to detail and formatting skills
Confidence managing up and supporting at Partner level
The ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines
A genuine team-focused approach and willingness to assist across different practice areas
