Poolside Aquatics Group

Ballarat

Geelong | Full Time | Monday–Friday
Poolside Aquatics Group is a family-owned business providing specialised maintenance, repairs and project works across commercial aquatic and leisure facilities throughout Victoria.
As our business continues to grow, we're looking for a skilled, practical and motivated tradesperson to join our team.
We're not necessarily looking for someone from one particular trade. You may come from a plumbing, electrical, mechanical, pump, maintenance, fitting or aquatic background — or simply be an experienced tradesperson with strong practical skills who enjoys working across a wide range of jobs.
The biggest thing we're looking for is someone who is handy, mechanically minded, willing to learn and happy to turn their hand to different types of work.
This isn't a role where you'll be doing the same thing every day or working strictly within one trade. One day you might be repairing a pump or modifying pipework, the next fault-finding equipment, installing current plant, carrying out preventative maintenance or assisting with a larger project.
If you enjoy variety, solving problems and working with your hands, this could be a great fit.
About the Role
You'll work across commercial aquatic and leisure facilities throughout Victoria, carrying out a broad range of maintenance, repair, installation and project works.
Depending on your skills and experience, work may include:
Commercial pool plant and equipment maintenance
Pipework repairs and modifications
Filtration and water treatment systems
UV systems
Plumbing and general maintenance
Electrical and control equipment
Mechanical repairs
Fault finding and reactive maintenance
Equipment installation and commissioning
Preventative maintenance

Minor construction and project works
Assisting other trades within the team
Working closely with councils and facility managers
Completing service reports and job documentation
You'll need to be comfortable working across a wide range of tasks and willing to learn areas outside your existing trade or experience.
We don't expect you to know everything from day one. Training and support will be provided, particularly around specialised aquatic equipment and systems.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
Has a trade qualification and/or strong hands-on industry experience
Is practical, mechanically minded and good with their hands
Enjoys variety and is willing to take on different types of work
Is willing to learn new equipment, systems and skills
Has strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
Can work independently and use initiative
Is happy to work alongside and assist other trades
Takes pride in producing high-quality work
Communicates professionally with customers
Is reliable, organised and motivated
Is flexible to work overtime or away when required
Holds a current manual driver's licence
Enjoys working as part of a close-knit team
Experience in the commercial aquatic industry would be highly regarded, but isn't essential for the right person.
Must have or be willing to obtain:
White Card
Working With Children Check
Police Check

Favourable but not essential:
Mechanical/fitting experience
Pump or water treatment experience
Excavator Ticket
EWP/Boom Lift Ticket
Working at Heights
Confined Space Entry
Commercial Dive Licence
What We Offer
Competitive salary based on skills and experience + overtime + leave entitlements + super
Opportunity for overtime and weekend work
Fully maintained company vehicle provided following the probationary period.
For the right applicant, a company vehicle may be available from commencement
Uniforms and PPE supplied
Opportunity to learn and work on specialised commercial aquatic systems
A varied role where you're not doing the same job every day
Supportive, family-owned business
Career progression as the business continues to grow
