Warehouse Manager | Food Imports + Distribution + 3PL | Prestons
Viking Imports is a family owned specialty food importer, distributor and 3PL solutions provider. We supply premium products to Australia's leading independent retailers, health food stores, specialty deli's and major supermarket chains. Some of our best sellers are frozen wild blueberries, organic goat feta and Swedish crispbreads! Having been in operation for 35 years, we are looking to update, streamline and organise our warehouse processes and operations with your help.
The Role
This hands-on role will focus on organising and managing our warehouse while increasing its efficiency throughout our chilled, ambient and frozen environments. You will work alongside our small warehouse team and be responsible for the entire process of picking/packing to fulfilment.
Overall your responsibilities include:
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to enhance warehouse procedures and layout, driving efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Oversee Daily Operations:
Manage receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.Oversee container and purchase order processes from start to finish and allocate work to team members.
Warehouse Organisation
: Use our Warehouse Management System to track and process sales orders, make stock adjustments and implement scanning into the warehouse.
Stock Management:
Ensure DIFOT is maintained,conduct regular stocktakes,manage stock outs, maintain accurate inventory recordsand resolveinaccuraciespromptly
People Management:
Supervise our warehouse team of seven, creating a team-oriented and quality driven work environment.
Cost Management
: Manage warehouse related costs including wages
3PL Management
:



Oversee our 3PL customers stock moving in and out with care and quality while managing customer relations with them.
Safety
: Maintain an overall secure work culture, ensure our warehouse is safe, well organised and compliant with regulations, conduct toolbox talks, act as the warehouse emergency contact.
Transport Liaison
: Manage the runs of our driver and liaise with external logistics and transport companies when we have overflow.
What you bring to the table
You have common sense, thrive on streamlining processes and love when things are organised.
Additionally, you will bring:
Warehouse management experience, ideally in the food industry or in imported goods
Confident and capable user of warehouse management systems and related technology
Hands-on experience improving warehouse efficiency and implementing RF Scanning initiatives across picking and packing
Strong operational skills in warehouse layout, stock management, and inventory accuracy
Proven ability to supervise warehouse teams and drive strong performance through clear leadership and support
Strong focus on continuous improvement across picking, packing, and labelling processes
A down to earth, problem solving, easy to get along with approach
Current forklift licence with high reach experience
High attention to detail across all warehouse operations

6:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday
