Digital Marketing Manager | E-commerce, Performance & CRM
Express Portables is an established, fast-growing Australian business operating across portable buildings and affordable housing.
Digital marketing is a major driver of our growth and a significant area of investment across paid Meta and Google advertising, websites, CRM, automation, content and new technology.
We're looking for an experienced, hands‐on Digital Marketing Manager to lead our in‐house marketing team, take ownership of HubSpot across both marketing and sales and drive the execution, accountability and commercial performance of our digital marketing function.
This is not a hands‐off management role. You'll set the pace for the team, stay close to the work and make sure projects move from idea through to execution, review and improvement.
You'll be the beat of the drum for the marketing team. You'll know what everyone is working on, what is due, what is falling behind, what needs input and what needs to be pushed through to completion.
You'll also remain hands‐on across Meta and Google paid advertising, HubSpot, marketing automation, reporting, websites, analytics, campaigns and digital marketing execution, while taking responsibility for reviewing our digital ad spend, campaign performance and return on advertising investment.
Our marketing team moves quickly across multiple projects, brands, product launches and campaigns. We're looking for someone who can bring structure, accountability and momentum while still being comfortable jumping into the work themselves.
This is a full‐time, in‐office position based at our modern Molendinar office on the Gold Coast.
Run the Marketing Team
Your biggest responsibility will be keeping the marketing team moving and making sure everyone knows what they are accountable for.
You'll oversee a small in house team including a:
Performance marketer
Other marketing support as the team continues to grow
You'll be responsible for:
Setting weekly and daily priorities
Knowing where every major marketing project stands
Assigning clear ownership and deadlines
Following up on outstanding work
Keeping projects moving through to completion
Coordinating work across the team
Maintaining strong communication and accountability
Reviewing the quality and outcome of completed work
Making sure the next action is always clear
We want someone who creates momentum.
Someone who doesn't allow projects to sit still, deadlines to drift or responsibilities to become unclear.
HubSpot is becoming one of the most important systems in our business.
We're currently implementing HubSpot across both marketing and sales and this role will take primary ownership of making sure we use it properly.
You'll work closely with the Directors,
marketing team and sales team to continually improve how leads are captured, followed up, reported and converted.
Your responsibilities will include:
Owning the ongoing implementation and management of HubSpot
Building and improving workflows and automations
Creating automated lead follow‐up sequences
Improving marketing and sales handover processes
Building dashboards and scoreboards
Tracking lead sources, response times and conversion
Improving pipeline visibility
Creating reporting for both marketing and sales
Maintaining CRM data quality and structure
Helping the sales team use HubSpot consistently
Identifying gaps in follow‐up and customer communication
Improving the customer journey from first enquiry through to sale
You don't need to be a HubSpot developer, but you do need to be confident getting into the platform, understanding how it works and taking ownership of making it better.
This role is for someone who enjoys managing a team but still wants to do the work.
You could spend the morning reviewing team priorities and project timelines, then jump into HubSpot to build an automation, review Meta or Google performance, work through a landing page with our Web Developer and finish the day reviewing lead conversion data with the sales team.
You'll remain actively involved across areas including:
Marketing automation
Landing pages and conversion
GA4 and reporting
Customer journeys
AI tools and workflows
Our paid advertising is supported by experienced internal and external resources, but you'll still need a strong understanding of performance marketing and be capable of reviewing campaigns, challenging results and jumping in when required.
Execution is only half the job.
Once a campaign, promotion or project goes live, we expect this role to review the results and use that information to decide what happens next.
You'll continually look at:
Lead quality
Cost per lead
Sales conversion
You'll turn that information into practical changes.
Our approach is simple:
We're looking for someone who naturally works this way.
Digital Marketing is a major investment for Express and one of the key drivers of our growth.
You'll work directly with the Directors and have genuine influence over what we do next.
We're not interested in marketing activity for the sake of activity.
We want to understand:
What is working?
What isn't?
Where are leads coming from?
Which campaigns are converting?
Where are customers dropping out?
What should we spend more on?
What should we stop doing?
What should the team work on next?
You'll help turn marketing data into clear commercial decisions.
AI is already part of how we work every day.
We use AI across campaign development, research, content, reporting, automation, creative and internal workflows.
You'll be expected to continually look for ways technology can help the team move faster, produce better work and improve customer experience.
We're not looking for someone who simply talks about AI.
We want someone who actually uses it.
Who Will Succeed in This Role?
This role will suit someone who is naturally organised, commercially minded who understands the difference between revenue and profit and comfortable taking responsibility.
You're someone who likes knowing where everything is at.
You enjoy keeping people moving, solving problems and making sure things actually get finished and executed.
You're comfortable holding people accountability while still working alongside them.
You can move between managing the team and getting into the detail yourself.
You're also confident working directly with business owners and can explain marketing performance in plain English without hiding behind marketing terminology.
Most importantly, you care about results the Directors want to see.
You'll Ideally Have
7+ years' experience in digital marketing
Experience leading or managing a marketing team
HubSpot or similar CRM experience
Marketing automation experience
Strong reporting and analytics capability
Google Ads and Meta Ads experience
Understanding of lead generation and sales funnels
Strong organisational and project management skills
Confidence working with sales teams
Robust commercial thinking
Experience working with meaningful digital advertising budgets
Confidence using AI as part of your everyday workflow
You don't need to be the strongest person in the room at every individual marketing discipline.
What matters is that you understand how everything fits together, can lead the people responsible for each area and are capable of getting on the tools yourself when required.
Work directly with the Directors
Take ownership of HubSpot across marketing and sales
Lead an established in‐house marketing team
Genuine influence over marketing strategy and priorities
Access to modern AI and marketing technology
Work across Express Portables and Express Wellness
Fast‐moving environment where decisions are made quickly
Opportunity to build systems and processes that scale with the business
We're not looking for someone who simply talks about AI.
