About the Role:
Are you a Registered Nurse with 1+ years clinical experience, looking to broaden your practice, accelerate your professional development and build your leadership capability?
We areseekingmotivated and enthusiastic nurses to join the inaugural intake of this innovative program.
The Aged General Medicine and Subacute (AGMS) Services at Western Health is proud to launch our new 16-month Registered Nurse Rotational Program, providing participants with the opportunity to undertake postgraduate studies through supported education scholarships. We also offer a non-postgraduate pathway for nurses wishing to develop their clinical skills and experience through a structured rotational program without formal study commitments.
The Program willcompriseof three rotations, with approximately five months per rotation across AGMS clinical areas: General Medicine, Acute Aged Care and Subacute Care.
This unique initiative combines clinical rotations across AGMS, including acute and specialty areas with postgraduate education, providing participants with the knowledge,skillsand experience to become future nursing leaders within Western Health.
About the Program:
The Registered Nurse AGMS Rotational Program has been designed to provide nurses with a comprehensive understanding ofAged Care, General Medicine and Subacute Services,while supporting their academic and professionalgrowth.
Rotate through threeAGMS clinical areas, spending approximately five months in each specialty.
Undertake postgraduate Advanced Nursing studies through the University of Tasmania, partially supported by generous Western Health education scholarships.
Develop advanced clinical assessment, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
Gain exposure to a diverse range of patient populations and models of care.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and support services.
Strengthen leadership capability and confidence in managing medical complex patient care.
Build professional networks across the AGMS division and broader organisation.
Participants will be guaranteed ongoing employment within Western Health
following successful completion
of the program.

Key Responsibilities:
Ensure safe and high quality, evidence-based patient care is planned and delivered that is in line with Western Health values (Cares - Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence and Safety), policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure best care for patients.
Promote andmaintaina positive workplace culture that supports teamwork.
About You:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a clinical setting.
Possess excellent clinical skills and demonstrate effective organizational skills, particularly with respect to time management, delegation and supervision.
A commitment to high quality, safe and person-centred care.
Ability to work a 7-day rotating roster(including weekend, afternoon and night shifts).
A commitment to satisfactorily complete the program.
