About the role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Director for Early Years & Outside School Hours Care to join our team at Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School in Woodroffe, NT. This is a full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to lead and support the development of our Early Years and Outside School Hours Care programmes. As Assistant Director, you will play a strategic role in ensuring the highest standards of care, education and wellbeing for children in our settings, whilst working collaboratively with the broader school community.
Key responsibilities
Co-leading the Early Years and Outside School Hours Care services, supporting strategic planning and operational management
Supervising and mentoring educators and support staff, providing coaching and professional development opportunities
Ensuring all programmes comply with relevant legislation, regulations and accreditation standards
Planning and implementing quality educational experiences that promote children's learning, development and wellbeing
Building and maintaining positive relationships with families, providing communication and engagement opportunities
Managing budgets, resources and facility maintenance to ensure secure and stimulating environments




Liaising with school leadership and external agencies to support children's individual needs
Participating in staff recruitment, induction and performance management processes
Maintaining comprehensive documentation including incident reports, children's learning portfolios and programme evaluations
Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and best practice within the services
What we're looking for
A Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care
Experience in a Leadership role
Mentoring and Coaching staff
Effective assessment and evaluation techniques
Values a collaborative approach
Establish positive educator, parent and child relationships
Strong, motivated and confident
Commitment to supporting and contributing to the Catholic Ethos
Knowledge of the National Quality Framework, National Law and National Regulations, including compliance
Knowledge of and implementation of Early Years Learning Framework and/or My Time Our Place framework
Ability to and experience in providing quality education and care that meets the needs, interests and abilities of children.
Demonstrated effective team leadership skills.
Effective written and oral communication skills
