Our Strategic Finance and Assurance Group is seeking a motivated and experienced leader to join the Strategic Sourcing and Portfolio Management Branch as the Senior Director, Commercial, Contracts and Planning. In this role, you will provide leadership for Digital Canberra's commercial and contractual functions, ensuring they are aligned with Government priorities, organisational objectives and forward planning requirements.
Reporting to the Executive Branch Manager, the role is responsible for shaping and implementing commercial strategies, contract management frameworks and procurement planning approaches that enable effective, sustainable service delivery. It leads the oversight of complex commercial and contractual arrangements, ensuring value for money, strong performance and alignment with business needs, while driving the development of annual and forward procurement plans informed by data, insights and market intelligence.
The role manages and develops a high-performing Commercial, Contracts and Planning team, building capability, embedding best-practice approaches and fostering a culture of integrity, accountability and continuous improvement. With extensive experience in digital and ICT-related commercial environments, the Senior Director ensures that commercial and planning practices are pragmatic, customer-centric and deliver solid outcomes for the organisation.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
The successful applicant must be an Australian citizen and possess or acquire and maintain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) security clearance at the Baseline level as an eligibility qualification. If AGSVA screening is not successful, your employment will not commence or, if already commenced, your employment will be reassessed.
Note:
This is a temporary position available immediately until 30 June ****, with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency.
Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
