drive bookings, spot opportunities, build relationships, and help maximise the potential of our venue
while ensuring every event we host runs brilliantly.
Working side by side with our
Venue Duty Manager and Marketing Manager
, you'll help create a busy, engaging and commercially successful venue calendar, bringing together great events, strong promotion and seamless delivery.
From corporate functions and celebrations to workshops, tastings, brand activations and external events, you'll manage the process from the first enquiry through to the event itself.
You'll be equally comfortable talking to a prospective client, putting together an event package, creating a run sheet, briefing the team and being there when it matters to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Ultimately, your role is simple:
create great events, help fill the venue and make events a profitable and growing part of our business.
What you'll be doing
You'll take the lead on our venue events and functions across bookings, planning and delivery, working closely with the

You'll:
Respond to event and function enquiries and turn opportunities into bookings
Proactively look for opportunities to grow venue bookings and event revenue
Build relationships with corporate clients, event organisers and potential partners
Manage events from initial enquiry and proposal through to planning and delivery
Work with clients on event packages, minimum spends, menus, beverages, room layouts and other requirements

Work closely with the Venue Duty Manager to ensure events are properly staffed, set up and delivered
Oversee event set-up and be present for key events where required
Troubleshoot issues quickly and calmly to make sure events run smoothly
Follow up with clients after events and encourage repeat bookings
Identify quieter periods and develop ideas to bring more people through the venue
Seek new partnerships, activations and external event opportunities
Work alongside the Marketing Manager to promote events, packages and venue opportunities and develop ideas to drive bookings
Monitor bookings, revenue and event performance to understand what's working and where we can do more
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone with
2-3 years' proven experience in events, functions, hospitality or venue management
who is ready to take the next step and make the role their own.
You'll bring:
2-3 years' proven experience
in events, functions, hospitality or a similar role
Experience managing events from enquiry through to delivery
Strong sales instincts and the confidence to turn enquiries into bookings
A proactive approach to finding new event and partnership opportunities
Good commercial awareness and an understanding of what makes an event successful and profitable
Excellent client and relationship-management skills
Strong organisation and attention to detail

Confidence coordinating suppliers, staff and stakeholders
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A collaborative approach and the ability to work closely with venue and marketing teams
A calm, practical approach when things don't quite go to plan
Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends around key events
Experience in
bars, restaurants, wineries, distilleries or event venues
would be highly regarded.
A qualification in events, hospitality, business or marketing is welcome, but
proven experience and results matter more to us.
Established in Adelaide in ****, Prohibition Liquor Co. has built a reputation for creating bold, innovative and award-winning spirits.
But Prohibition has always been about more than what's in the bottle.
Our Gilbert Street home brings people together for drinks, functions, tastings, workshops and events and we're looking for someone who can help us make even more of it.
We're a hands-on, creative business where good ideas are encouraged, and people have the opportunity to genuinely make an impact.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced
Events Coordinator, Functions Coordinator or hospitality professional
who's ready to step up, take greater ownership and help grow the events side of an established Adelaide brand.
You'll work side by side with our
Venue Duty Manager and Marketing Manager
, giving you the support of a close team while still having the freedom to bring ideas to the table and make the role your own.
You'll have the prospect to build relationships, create new opportunities and see the direct impact of your work as the venue calendar grows.
Salary: Dependent on experience.
If you love creating memorable events, building relationships and seeing a busy venue calendar,
we'd love to hear from you.
