About Marist Schools Australia
Marist Schools Australia Limited (MSA) draws together 58 Catholic school communities which shape their identity and mission through the spirituality and educational approach that was introduced into the Church by St Marcellin Champagnat. Within this family of schools, 12 are governed by MSA, while the others either have a shared governance arrangement or have partnership agreements that allow MSA to work collaboratively with the schools' diocesan governing authorities. MSA provides its member schools with leadership, support and governance in order that they can continue to be authentic Marist educational communities.
MSA is seeking a seasoned professional with strong project planning and administrative support experience to support MSA's Director of School Improvement and the School Improvement Team. This position is a practical and varied role, and combines project planning, writing, editing, document analysis and the production of material for school leaders.
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Director of School Improvement (Director), the Project and Network Assistant provides administration and team support including diary management and the scheduling of meetings; preparation of meeting agendas, papers and minutes of meetings; maintaining digital records, filing systems and document registers; coordinating travel and related bookings; and the processing of purchase requests, invoices and expense claims.
Your project planning responsibilities include the maintenance of project plans, timelines and task registers for school improvement initiatives; coordinating the logistics of school reviews and inquiry visits; tracking milestones and deliverables, raising emerging risks preparing status summaries for the Director; coordinating professional learning events,



briefings and forums; maintaining a national calendar of school improvement commitments; and supporting the preparation of budgets and acquittals for school improvement projects and events.
You will edit and proofread reports, papers, policies, templates and correspondence to a publication standard; format documents to ensure they are coherent, professional and easy for schools to use; prepare accurate summaries, tables and thematic notes based on school annual plans, review reports, policy submissions and survey and achievement data; and undertake background research and desktop scans as required.
This is a part-time role working 3 days per week (or the equivalent hours over 4 or 5 days per week) and based in Mascot, Sydney. Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required for this position from time to time. The role includes 5 weeks' annual leave.
About You
Specifically, as the ideal candidate for this role, you will meet the following
Key Requirements
:
Understanding of and willingness to support the ethos, mission and values of Marist Schools Australia and of the Catholic Church.
Demonstrated experience providing project and administrative support to a senior leader or a small professional team.
A relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent experience in project support, administration or education.
Strong writing and editing skills, including the ability to proofread and improve documents.
High-level competency in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or similar tools is desirable.
Comfortable working with quantitative information, including spreadsheets, tables and simple charts.
Solid verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
As this is a part-time role, only candidates with the unrestricted right to work in Australia will be considered.
Preferred candidates must have a current NSW Working With Children Check clearance and National Police Check clearance.
