Pop-Up Therapy is looking for a warm, reliable and enthusiastic
Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA)
to join our team.
We are a paediatric occupational therapy service supporting children and young people across their everyday environments, including homes, schools and the community. Our approach is strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming and focused on helping children build skills, confidence and participation in the things that matter to them.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and families and would like to develop their skills within a supportive paediatric OT team.
About the Role:
Working under the supervision and delegation of our Occupational Therapists, you will support children and young people to work towards their therapy goals.
Your role will include:
Delivering individual therapy sessions and implementing programs developed by the supervising OT
Supporting children to practise skills relating to daily living, fine and gross motor development, sensory processing and social participation
Building positive relationships with children, young people and their families
Supporting families to implement strategies and home programs as directed by the OT
Preparing therapy activities, equipment and resources
Completing session notes and communicating relevant observations and progress to the supervising OT
Travelling to homes, schools and community locations for appointments
About you:
We would love to hear from you if you:
Have completed, or are currently completing, a
Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance, Individual Support (Disability), Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or a related qualification
Have experience working with children and/or people with disability
Are warm, engaging and confident building relationships with children and families
Have strong communication and organisational skills
Are comfortable working independently while being part of a supportive team
Hold a current Queensland driver's licence and have access to a reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
Hold, or are able to obtain prior to commencement, a current Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening clearance.
Requirements:
Current unrestricted Queensland driver's licence
Satisfactory reference check.
