We're growing our Support Office finance team and looking for a Finance Officer to join Star Group.
Star Group is Queensland's leading independent hospitality operator, with close to 200 sites across hotels, bars, accommodation and retail liquor.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys reconciliations, solving problems, investigating discrepancies and keeping financial records accurate. You'll be part of a large finance team supporting multiple businesses across the group.
What you'll be doing
Bank reconciliations
Balance sheet reconciliations
Clearing and control account reconciliations
Investigating and resolving unreconciled items
Maintaining accurate financial records
Assisting with month-end reconciliations and reporting preparation
Supporting accounts receivable processes
Working with venue teams and the wider finance team to resolve queries
Assisting with finance process improvements and system changes
This role is best suited to someone who enjoys getting into the detail,



identifying issues and ensuring accounts are accurate and complete.
About you
2+ years' experience in bookkeeping, finance or accounting
Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Comfortable working with large transaction volumes
Organised and able to manage competing priorities
Ideally have some experience with Xero, Business Central or similar accounting systems.
A team player who takes ownership of their work
Hospitality experience is beneficial but not essential.
