We're currently recruiting for a
Control Systems Engineer
to join a global engineering and manufacturing organisation specialising in rail vehicle HVAC and thermal management systems.
This is a full time, permanent position based in Western Sydney. The role is focused on the design, development, testing and maintenance of control software for complex electromechanical systems, with a strong emphasis on PLC programming and industrial control systems.
Roles and Responsibilities
Design, develop and implement PLC software and control algorithms for industrial electromechanical systems.
Undertake system functional analysis and develop traceable software requirements and specifications.
Perform software and system verification and validation, including bench testing, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and site testing.
Troubleshoot PLC, software and equipment faults, undertake root cause analysis and support ongoing software maintenance.
Support software documentation, configuration management, defect tracking and continuous improvement activities while working across local and international engineering teams.




Skills and Requirements
Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
~5-10 years' hands‐on experience in PLC programming and industrial control systems.
Experience with IEC ***** programming languages such as Structured Text, Function Block Diagrams and/or Sequential Function Charts.
Experience developing and testing control software for electromechanical equipment or industrial systems.
Experience across requirements analysis, software design, testing, validation, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
