Teacher Aide – Learning Enhancement (Secondary School)

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Teacher Aide to join our Secondary School Team. We welcome application available to start immediately or from the beginning of Term 1, ****. This role will primarily work within Learning Enhancement. The position is offered on a permanent part-time, term-time basis for
4-5 days per week
.
The Teacher Aidewill be required to support classroom teachers and to assist specific students within the classroom.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
Assisting students in the classroom setting to meet lesson expectations in line with curriculum and pedagogical practices of the school;
Providing support for examinations and assignments that may involve: scaffolding assignments, reading questions, scribing, direct supervision, including the provisions of Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments for Year 12 students;
Supervision of small groups of students, undertaking specific learning activities designed by a teacher to ensure a safe and productive learning environment;




Maintaining anecdotal records on students for use in reviewing students' academic and emotional development and following legislative requirements, i.e. Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD);
Organise, collate and develop resources collected during lessons with learning support teachers, class teachers and subject teachers and store copies in a general resource area for access to all learning support personnel;
Maintain a close liaison with the Head of Learning Enhancement of students in Year 7 – 12 to support students access the curriculum;
Communicate effectively (both written and spoken) with students, teachers, and parents to support student learning and well-being; and
Display respect, empathy, confidentiality, tact, reliability and sensitivity to all students and their families.
The successful candidate may hold:
A Certificate III in Educational Support or higher, or be an undergraduate Education student;
Experience with Microsoft suite of programs; and
Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
