We are seeking an experienced
Chef de Partie / Pizza Maker
to join our kitchen team in Broken Hill.
This is a full-time position working across:
The Broken Hill Pub
– gastro-style dining, quality pub food and functions
Broken Hill Pizza
– quality pizza and casual dining
About the Role
You will be responsible for managing your kitchen section and working with the wider team to deliver consistent, high-quality food during busy service periods.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing, cooking and presenting food to a high standard
Pizza making, including dough preparation, toppings and oven management
Preparing gastro-style and pub dishes using a range of cooking techniques
Managing your section, ingredients, equipment and preparation requirements
Maintaining food quality, presentation and portion control
Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness
Stock rotation and monitoring ingredient requirements
Working efficiently and calmly during busy services
Supporting and mentoring junior kitchen staff where required
Assisting with menu development and other kitchen projects
Contributing to a positive, professional and team-focused kitchen environment
About You
The successful applicant will have:
Previous experience as a
Chef de Partie or similar senior kitchen role
Strong gastro/pub dining experience
Proven pizza-making experience – essential
Ideally 3–5 years' experience in a professional kitchen environment




Good knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality
Skilled presentation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good time management and organisational skills
The ability to work under pressure while maintaining standards
A reliable, positive and professional attitude
The ability to work effectively as part of a team
Leadership and mentoring skills are highly desirable.
