Training & Career Development
We're looking for someone who wants to continue developing their craft.
You'll work alongside experienced chefs, expand your knowledge of produce and techniques, develop your open-fire cooking skills and have genuine opportunities to grow within the kitchen.
Learn the Art of Cooking with Fire
Our custom-built fire deck and movable gantry sit at the heart of The Arsonist kitchen.
You'll work directly with flame, smoke and different fire-cooking techniques to bring out the best in quality Australian produce.
Open-fire experience is highly regarded, but not essential. If you're a strong CDP with the right attitude and foundation,



we'll teach you the fire.
About You
We're specifically looking for an experienced
Chef de Partie
who:
Has experience working as a CDP or in a comparable role within a quality restaurant
Has strong fundamental cooking skills and attention to detail
Takes pride in consistency and presentation
Understands food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures
Works well under pressure during busy services
Is organised, reliable and takes ownership of their section
Works collaboratively with the wider kitchen and Front of House team
Has a genuine passion for food and hospitality
Wants to continue learning and progressing their career
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery is preferred.
A Little About Us
The Arsonist is an 80-seat casual fine-dining restaurant on Manly's waterfront, built around the theatre and flavour of cooking with fire.
Our open kitchen allows guests to watch our chefs work directly over flame and smoke, using seasonal Australian produce to create food centred around flavour and honest cooking.
The kitchen is complemented by an extensive wine program, signature cocktails and one of Brisbane's most comprehensive whisky selections.
