Multidrive Technology is a 100% Australian owned company located in Geelong, Victoria. For more than 30 years MDT has provided complete in-house design, manufacture and assembly of specialised vehicles and off-road accessories for commercial fleet, domestic retail, and export markets. From 6x6 conversions, chassis extensions and GVM Upgrades, we also design and build steel and aluminium trays, modules, and specialised trailers.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a qualified and experienced automotive professional for the full-time position of Workshop Co-ordinator. Combining hands-on mechanical expertise with strong organisational and leadership skills to support workshop operations, this role will lead the mechanic/fitting team, and act as the key link between workshop and office functions.
Reporting directly to the Business Manager, the responsibilities of this full time position will include:
Direct Duties
Co-ordinating daily workshop workflow,
Monitoring workshop productivity, labour efficiency, and turnaround times.
Supervising and supporting mechanics, boilermakers, and accessory fitters in day-to-day operations.
Provide workshop-level stock management capability.
Assist with vehicle logistics – Day-to-day yard management, vehicle collection etc.
Assist with time capture and reporting duties.
Liaising between workshop and office staff, to ensure smooth communication and job progression.
Maintaining workshop cleanliness, tooling, and WHS compliance.
Assisting with staff training and maintaining team and quality performance standards.
Conducting final quality checks prior to vehicle delivery.
Supporting continuous improvement of workshop systems and operational procedures.
Mechanical Fitment Duties (as Required)
Installation of MDT GVM upgrade suspension systems on new and in-service vehicles.




Installation of specialist MDT 4x4 products, including track correction systems, dual batteries.
Vehicle preparation and assembly activities associated with chassis extensions and 6 wheel conversions. This includes knowledge of brake & driveline systems, axle assembly, exhaust, and wiring modifications, along with rigorous pre-delivery vehicle inspections.
Maintenance and/or servicing of existing vehicles and components.
A range of other general tasking as per company requirements.
To be successful in this role the candidate will require:
Trade qualification relevant to the LV Automotive sector.
Clear focus on providing a safe and effective workplace for yourself and those around you.
Excellent knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and their components.
Proficiency in utilising various electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, and hand tools.
Competence in using precision measurement tools.
Ability to follow established procedures, interpret engineering drawings, and other general instructions.
Strong attention to detail, with high quality standards and customer consideration.
Self-motivated, with strong work ethic and proven problem-solving ability in this varied and rewarding role.
Natural traits of leadership, accountability, and responsibility.
Proficiency in organisation and time management.
Understanding of stock management principles.
Willingness to engage, track and drive performance improvements.
