We are seeking an experienced and motivated
Senior Associate – Family Law
to join our growing family law team.
This is an opportunity for a family lawyer who is looking for more than simply managing a file load. You will have the opportunity to take carriage of your own matters, work directly with clients, appear in Court, contribute to the strategic direction of matters and play an significant role within a supportive and high-performing team.
About the role
You will have carriage of a diverse family law practice, including matters involving:
Parenting and children's matters;
Complex property and financial proceedings;
Divorce and associated financial matters;
Family violence and risk issues;
Negotiations, mediations and dispute resolution;
Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia litigation; and
Preparation of complex correspondence, affidavits, submissions and other Court documents.
You will work closely with clients and have significant autonomy in managing your matters, while having access to the support and experience of the broader team.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
Is an
Australian-qualified lawyer
with substantial family law experience;
Has demonstrated experience in family law litigation and dispute resolution;
Is confident appearing in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia;
Has strong drafting, analytical and advocacy skills;
Is commercially minded and able to identify practical strategies for clients;
Is highly organised and able to manage competing priorities;




Communicates clearly and confidently with clients, counsel, solicitors and other professionals;
Takes ownership of their matters and is comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy;
Has a genuine interest in family law and achieving sensible, strategic outcomes for clients; and
Is willing to contribute to the development and mentoring of junior members of the team.
