Situated just 12km from Drillham in Queensland's productive Western Downs region, this family-owned and operated beef and dryland cropping enterprise is well regarded within the local agricultural community. Alongside a broadacre cropping program, the business also operates a transport division, creating diversity across the operation and providing year‐round stability. Reporting directly to the owners, this position is ideally suited to someone with previous farming experience who enjoys working independently, operating machinery and taking a hands‐on approach across a variety of farm activities. An immediate start is available, with harvest expected to commence from late September through October.
While support is needed for the upcoming harvest period, the role offers ongoing permanent employment for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Operate cropping machinery across spraying, planting, harvest and general farm operations.
Assist with grain harvest, storage and deliveries to depots and feedlots.
Conduct routine workshop maintenance and basic repairs on machinery and equipment.
Support day‐to‐day farm activities across the cropping and livestock enterprise as required.
Assist with mustering, branding and feeding of cattle.
Selection Criteria:
Previous farming or broadacre cropping experience.
Knowledge, understanding and previous experience working cattle.
MC Licence advantageous but not essential.
Ability to safely operate agricultural machinery and equipment.
Strong communication, organisational and time management skills.
Physically fit, reliable and able to work effectively within a small team environment.
