JL Lawyers is a boutique law firm located in Adelaide's East End seeking an experienced and highly capable Legal Practice Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day financial, administrative and operational management of the practice. This is a hands-on and varied position suited to someone who understands how a small legal practice operates and enjoys being at the centre of the business. You will work closely with the firm's principals and lawyers and will be an key point of contact for clients.
Part Time (at least .8 FTE) will also be considered for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities
Day-to-day bookkeeping and financial administration
Cash flow management and monitoring
Payroll and associated employee administration
Accounts payable and receivable
Preparation and management of client billing
Monitoring outstanding accounts and debt collection
Client liaison and general relationship management
Telephone, reception and front-of-house duties
Management of general office administration and suppliers
Assisting the principals with the efficient operation of the practice
About you
Previous experience working in the operation or management of a legal practice is essential
A strong working knowledge of Xero
Experience with bookkeeping, payroll, billing and accounts receivable
Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
Confidence dealing directly with clients
A professional and personable telephone and reception manner
The ability to manage competing priorities without requiring close supervision
Sound judgment, discretion and an understanding of confidentiality in a legal environment
A practical, proactive approach to getting things done
Experience with legal practice management, billing or document management software will be highly regarded
