The role
We're looking for an experienced Fractional CFO to lead finance for a portfolio of clients. The role is 2 days or 15 hours per week, so you can work it as two full days or spread it across the week, which could suit someone working school hours. Work is primarily remote, with an in-person day in the Brisbane CBD each fortnight and in-person client meetings in Brisbane when required.
What you'll do
Act as the senior finance partner to founders, directors and boards
Conduct strategic reviews of client finance functions, identifying gaps, risks and opportunities to improve
Lead the implementation of finance systems and automation to make client finance functions more effective and scalable
Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and three-way financial models




Prepare and present monthly management reporting and board packs
Oversee the finance function delivered by our finance team
Advise on pricing, profitability, structuring, funding and growth decisions
Lead and review the work of accountants on the team
About you
CA or CPA qualified
Senior finance experience at CFO, Finance Director or Senior Finance Manager level
Experience across SMEs or scale-ups, ideally in more than one industry
Hands-on experience implementing finance systems and automation tools
Able to translate numbers into clear commercial advice for non-finance people
Comfortable working autonomously across multiple clients and priorities
Based in Brisbane, with the ability to attend the CBD fortnightly and client meetings as needed
