Locum Psychiatry Registrar - Inpatient - Newcastle, NSW
About the Role:
We are seeking an Inpatient Psychiatry Registrar for a short locum placement with a large regional and rural public mental health service in Newcastle, NSW. This contract runs from 26 to 30 October ****, working 8:30am to 5:00pm. The service operates across hospital and community settings in northern NSW, giving you exposure to a broad range of clinical environments within strong multidisciplinary teams that work closely with acute hospitals, community teams and other specialist services.
Assess and manage acute and complex inpatient psychiatry presentations
Provide clinical care across a broad range of mental health presentations
Participate in ward rounds, case reviews and multidisciplinary team meetings
Collaborate with senior medical staff, nursing and allied health teams
Contribute to risk assessment, treatment planning and discharge coordination
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

About You:
AHPRA registered Medical Practitioner
Currently practising at Registrar level in Psychiatry
Confident managing a broad range of acute inpatient mental health presentations
Works effectively both autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
Available for the full contract period
Eligible to work in Australia
