Key responsibilities
The key purpose of this role is to provide Cardiac Rhythm Management and support to QCG's cardiologists, services and patients. QCG's Cardiac Rhythm Management Technicians deliver high quality clinical care to provide outstanding support to each patient and their overall heart health and wellbeing. You would be working with a small team at our St Andrews War Memorial (Spring Hill) location, but occasionally you would be available and willing to work from St Vincents (Chermside) or other QCG locations if needed.
Integrate a knowledge base from physiology, pathophysiology and cardiac device function to perform evaluations, diagnostic review and overall analysis through Remote Monitoring of Cardiac Implantable electronic devices (CIEDs)
Perform device checks and reprogramming for Pacemakers, Defibrillators and Loop Recorder in clinic
Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Cardiologists, device representatives and patients
Communicate with patients both proactively and reactively and act as a liaison point between cardiologists and patients
Educate patients on their CIED, condition, care and treatment pathways, within your scope of practice
Be adaptable and adaptive in working with the Cardiologists' rosters and service requirements
Complete high-quality documentation to reflect the activity undertaken
Maintain current knowledge of guidelines, programming, and device functions,
follow-up recommendations related to all aspects of CIEDs
Assist in the overall running of QCG clinical services as requested including quality assurance activities, audits, maintenance and calibration
Provide nursing support to the CT Service including medical history and vital sign assessment, medication administration, and management of allergies and reactions
About you
More than 2 years in the field of Cardiac Rhythm Management - Specifically Pacemakers, Defibrillators and Loop Recorders
Tertiary qualifications in Medical, Biomedical Science, or Registered Nurse
Experience working in Cardiac Catheter Theatre, or as a device representative (desirable)
Experience with interrogating and interpreting device diagnostics for all 5 major manufacturers (Medtronic, Abbott / St Jude, Boston Scientific, Biotronik, MicroPort /Sorin) (desirable)
Engage in Continued Professional Development (CPD), meeting at least the minimum level required by AHPRA
Actively participate in team and professional development meetings
