Queensland
Work Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (WHSEQ) Advisor
Acu-Tech Piping Systems is one of Australia's leading manufacturers and suppliers of polyethylene piping solutions, supporting major infrastructure, mining, water, energy and industrial projects across the country.
With manufacturing facilities and operations nationwide, we've built our reputation on quality, reliability and delivering for our customers. Behind that success is a team of dedicated people who genuinely care about what they do, how they do it and the safety of those around them.
As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced WHSEQ Advisor to join our Brisbane team and help drive a strong safety culture, support operational excellence and contribute to the success of a national manufacturing business.
The Opportunity
This is a hands on operational role where you'll work directly with managers, supervisors and frontline teams to strengthen safety performance, support compliance and embed practical WHSEQ initiatives.
You'll be out on the floor, in the workshop and engaging with people where the work happens. Success in this role comes from building credibility, providing practical guidance and helping leaders and employees take ownership of safety, quality and environmental outcomes.
If you're someone who enjoys partnering with operational teams, influencing positive behaviours and making a genuine impact, this role offers the opportunity to do exactly that.
What You'll Be Doing
Partner with operational leaders to provide practical WHSEQ advice and support.
Conduct workplace inspections, audits, risk assessments and safety observations.
Lead incident investigations and support effective corrective actions and learnings.
Manage hazard reporting, incident management and close-out processes.
Facilitate toolbox talks, safety engagements and WHSEQ awareness initiatives.
Support compliance with WHS, environmental and quality standards, legislation and company procedures.
Monitor WHSEQ performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Investigate non conformances and drive effective corrective and preventative actions.
Deliver WHSEQ training, coaching and support across the business.
Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of Acu-Tech's WHSEQ management systems.
What We're Looking For
You are a proactive WHSEQ professional who combines solid technical knowledge with the ability to influence and engage people at all levels of the business.
You build credibility quickly, communicate confidently and are comfortable challenging unsafe behaviours while maintaining productive and respectful working relationships. Most importantly, you understand how to balance compliance requirements with practical operational outcomes.
You Will Ideally Have
Well developed communication,
coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.
3-5 years' experience in a WHSEQ, HSE or WHS advisory role.
Experience within manufacturing, industrial, production or operational environments.
Relevant qualifications in Work Health & Safety or Environmental Management.
Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation and safety management systems.
Experience conducting incident investigations using ICAM or similar methodologies.
Experience facilitating training, toolbox talks and safety engagement activities.
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or demonstrated training delivery experience is highly desirable.
Internal or external auditing experience would be highly regarded.
Why Join Acu-Tech?
At Acu-Tech, you'll be joining a business where your contribution is recognised and where you'll have the opportunity to influence real outcomes.
While based in Brisbane, you'll be supported by an experienced National WHSEQ team headquartered in Perth, providing guidance, collaboration and opportunities to contribute to national safety initiatives across the business.
We offer:
A locally based role with no FIFO requirements.
The opportunity to make a visible impact across a growing national organisation.
Support from an experienced and collaborative national WHSEQ team.
Variety in your day, with a mix of site engagement, coaching and improvement projects.
Ongoing professional development and career growth opportunities.
A workplace that values safety, teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement.
