The Farm Technology Frontline Sales is responsible for driving frontline sales activities and securing order intake for GEA Farm Technologies' new equipment business across Australia. Working closely with Area Managers, dealers, and internal stakeholders, this role will focus on sales growth, dealer engagement, product promotion, new product introduction, and operational excellence across the sales process.
The role acts as a key link between GEA's dealer network, customers, international product teams, and internal departments to ensure market growth, customer satisfaction, and successful execution of sales strategies.
The successful candidate will embody GEA's values and actively contribute to achieving GEA Farm Technologies' vision, strategic objectives, and commercial targets.
Key Responsibilities
Drive sales growth and secure order intake for GEA Farm Technologies' new equipment portfolio.
Develop and execute sales strategies in collaboration with Area Managers and the dealer network.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the dairy and farm technology sectors.
Support dealers in converting opportunities into sales and achieving market growth objectives.
Provide sales support for major projects and large-scale customer opportunities.
Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers, sales agents, and key customers.
Support dealer capability development through product training and sales guidance.
Communicate new product releases, product updates, and commercial initiatives to dealers.
Assist in the development and implementation of dealer display programs and in-house product showcases.
Act as a key point of contact between GEA and its dealer network.
Sales Operations & Process Improvement
Effectively utilise Sales Plus quoting tools, CRM systems, and SAP-based sales processes.
Ensure accurate sales reporting, forecasting, opportunity management, and quotation preparation.
Work with the broader sales team to identify and implement process improvements that drive efficiency and customer responsiveness.
Maintain high-quality customer and sales data within CRM systems.
Product & Marketing Support
Liaise with GEA international product teams and subsidiaries to support new product introductions and launches.
Coordinate dealer communication and market readiness activities for new product releases.
Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop effective print and digital marketing resources.
Support product promotions, campaigns, and advertising initiatives.
Provide market feedback and customer insights to support future product development.
Events & Industry Engagement
Assist in organising and participating in:
Open Days
Field Days
Industry Events
Product Launches
Customer Demonstrations
Represent GEA professionally at industry functions and networking opportunities.
Stakeholder Management
Build strong relationships with internal departments, external partners, and industry stakeholders.
Provide sales and operational support to Area Managers as required.
Relieve Area Managers during periods of annual leave and extended absences.
Act as a liaison between GEA and external companies to support business initiatives.
Demonstrate and promote GEA values in all interactions.
Foster a collaborative, customer-focused, and high-performance culture.
Contribute positively to the success of GEA Farm Technologies and the wider GEA business.
Profile, Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 8 years' experience in dairy milking equipment, farm technology, agricultural equipment, or related capital equipment sales.
Proven experience driving sales growth and delivering commercial outcomes.
Experience working with dealer, distributor, or sales agent networks.
Strong understanding of dairy farming operations and farm technology solutions.
Experience using CRM systems and SAP-based quoting platforms.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Strong stakeholder management capability across internal and external audiences.
Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented team environment.
Sound Microsoft Office Suite skills.
Current driver's licence and willingness to travel as required.
Tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Business, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, or related discipline.
Experience managing national or regional dealer networks.
Knowledge of robotic milking, herd management systems, feeding technology, or dairy automation solutions.
Experience supporting product launches and marketing campaigns.
