Shutdowns, Maintenance & Welding – Rockhampton QLD
SMW Group is a Central Queensland based provider of industrial services, supporting shutdowns, outages, maintenance and project works across the mining and resources sector. With established workshop and site based operations, SMW Group delivers reliable, compliant and experienced crews to meet operational demands across the region.
We are currently seeking experienced Riggers to join our shutdown and maintenance teams across multiple sites in Central Queensland. These roles will see you working within established crews, supporting planned shutdowns, breakdown response and ongoing maintenance activities in heavy industrial environments.
In this role, you will be responsible for performing dogging and rigging duties in line with lift plans and site procedures, safely moving and positioning equipment and structural components, and working closely with mechanical and maintenance teams to support efficient execution of work scopes.
Key Responsibilities
Perform dogging and rigging activities in accordance with lift studies and plans
Safely sling, lift and position equipment and materials
Interpret lift plans and ensure safe load control practices are followed
Work collaboratively within shutdown and maintenance crews
Maintain compliance with site safety systems, permits and procedures
Contribute to achieving shutdown targets and minimising downtime
About You
High Risk Work Licence – Rigging
Previous experience in shutdowns, maintenance or heavy industry environments
Strong understanding of secure rigging practices and load control
Ability to work effectively in a team and follow direction
Commitment to safety and compliance
