EXPERIENCED SHOPFITTER / JOINERY
PRODUCTION & SITE INSTALLER
Location:
Melbourne
Employment:
Full-time
Industry:
Custom Joinery / Shopfitting / Commercial Fit-outs / Events
We're looking for an experienced
Shopfitter / Joinery Production & Site Installer
to join our team, with a mix of
workshop/factory-based joinery production, commercial installation and event builds
.
This is a hands‐on role suited to someone who enjoys building quality joinery in the workshop, getting out on site and seeing projects come together.
The role offers a great variety of work across
high-end retail, commercial fit‐outs and event projects
, providing an opportunity to work on creative and often unique builds rather than being limited to repetitive joinery production.
THE ROLE
You'll work across our workshop, commercial project sites and event environments, producing and installing custom joinery, shopfitting and bespoke event builds.
Your responsibilities will include:
Workshop / Factory
Manufacturing custom joinery and cabinetry
Using CNC drawing/en-route programming software experience highly preferred
Operating CNC machinery — experience highly preferred
Cutting, assembling and preparing joinery for installation
Working with laminate, veneer, 2-pack, timber and other finishes
Operating workshop machinery and power tools
Reading and interpreting shop drawings and cutting lists
Quality checking completed joinery
Preparing, packing and protecting joinery for transport and installation
Assisting with workshop planning and production
Keeping the workshop clean, organised and efficient
Site Installation
Installing custom joinery and cabinetry
Commercial shopfitting and retail fit‐outs
Setting out and measuring on site

Installing shelving, counters, cabinetry and feature elements
Reading and interpreting plans and shop drawings
Coordinating with builders, trades and site managers
Problem‐solving and making adjustments on site
Delivering a high‐quality finish
Maintaining a safe and organised work area
Event Builds
Building and installing bespoke event structures and displays
Working on temporary retail activations, exhibitions and brand installations
Manufacturing event components in the workshop
Installing feature walls, displays, counters and custom structures
Working to tight deadlines and event bump‐in schedules
Working as part of a team to deliver projects from workshop through to completion
Being creative and practical in solving problems on site
Event work provides the opportunity to work on
creative, one‐off builds and brand experiences
, offering a break from repetitive production and allowing the right person to get involved in different types of projects.
ABOUT YOU
We're looking for someone who:
Has solid experience in
joinery, shopfitting, carpentry and/or commercial installation
Is confident working in both a
workshop and on site
Can read and understand shop drawings, plans and cutting lists
Has experience with joinery manufacturing and installation
Is confident using hand and power tools
Has experience operating CNC machinery, or is keen to develop these skills

Has a high attention to detail and takes pride in their work
Is practical, creative and enjoys problem‐solving
Can work independently and as part of a team
Works efficiently and takes ownership of their work
Is reliable, punctual and professional
Has good communication skills
Holds a current driver's licence
Event building, Cabinet Making, Shopfitting, Carpentry or related trade qualification
is preferred.
A White Card is required, with other relevant site tickets highly regarded.
WHAT WE OFFER
Full‐time position with ongoing work
Competitive salary based on experience
Combination of
workshop, commercial site and event work
High‐end commercial and retail projects
Creative and unique event builds
Quality custom joinery
Varied work — no two projects are necessarily the same
Supportive team environment
Opportunities for overtime and interstate projects
Stable pipeline of work
Prospect to develop CNC and digital fabrication skills
THE RIGHT PERSON
We're looking for someone who can
build it in the workshop and install it properly on site
.
You should be able to read a drawing, understand how something needs to be made, build it to a high standard and then confidently install it on site.
Just as importantly, you'll enjoy variety. One week you might be manufacturing high‐end retail joinery, the next installing a commercial fit‐out, and the next building a completely bespoke event activation.
We're looking for someone who
takes ownership, works efficiently, thinks creatively and cares about the finished product
.
If you're someone who enjoys making things, solving problems and seeing your work come together from the workshop through to installation, we'd like to hear from you.
