About the Role
Reporting to the Mayor and working in partnership with the elected Council, the Chief Executive Officer provides the leadership and stewardship required to guide one of Australia's most significant civic institutions through its next phase of growth, transformation and prospect. As the City's most senior executive,



you will provide trusted strategic advice to Council while leading a high-performing organisation that delivers essential services to a rapidly growing community. You will oversee a diverse operational portfolio spanning infrastructure, planning, water, transport, environmental sustainability, economic development and community services.
The CEO will lead the delivery of the City's vision, ensuring sustainable growth, strong organisational performance and exceptional community outcomes while building a culture of accountability, innovation and service excellence. You will work collaboratively with all levels of government, industry leaders, investors and community stakeholders to help position the Gold Coast for continued success.

You will be an accomplished executive leader with experience leading large, complex organisations through growth, change and increasing stakeholder expectations. You will bring exceptional strategic, commercial and financial acumen, a commitment to organisational excellence and a demonstrated ability to build high-performing cultures that deliver sustainable outcomes for customers, communities and stakeholders. You will achieve these outcomes within a value for money environment ensuring prudent management of operational expenditure delivering savings and efficiencies where available. Most importantly, you will possess the judgement, integrity and leadership capability required to build trust, inspire confidence and lead effectively in a highly visible public environment.
