Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast is seeking a Purchasing Officer to work within our Procurement team. This position will be employed on a permanent full time basis, 38 hours per week. Mater has finalised the strategic acquisition of Healthscope's Gold Coast Private Hospital, this is a significant milestone in Mater's commitment to delivering exceptional and compassionate care to Queensland communities.
Based at our Gold Coast Campus, this role will be part of our state-of-the-art 339 bed facility located in Southport. This facility was established in **** and offers a wide range of specialities across Emergency, Medical Services, Orthopaedics, Bariatrics, Neurosurgery, Plastics, ENT, General Surgery, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care and Oncology.
Salary range: $***** - $***** per hour
plus superannuation

What you'll be doing
Process purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders in a timely and accurate manner in line with operational requirements
Support the delivery of purchasing services to clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to ensure continuity of supply
Maintain accurate records of purchasing transactions and ensure supporting documentation is complete
Assist with resolving routine purchasing, supplier or system-related queries
Monitor and follow up outstanding orders, including backorders, to support service delivery
Support cost-effective purchasing practices by using approved suppliers, contracts and pricing arrangements
Assist with goods receipting, invoice matching and reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy
Ensure purchasing activities comply with delegated authority limits and financial procedures
Identify and elevate discrepancies or issues impacting financial accuracy
Comply with Mater procurement policies, procedures and relevant standards
Ensure purchasing documentation and transactions meet audit and compliance requirements
Identify and report risks, including non-compliance or process issues
Maintain awareness of workplace health and safety obligations relevant to procurement activities
Work collaboratively within the purchasing team to achieve service and operational outcomes
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers
Provide responsive and professional communication to stakeholders regarding purchasing matters
About you
Qualifications
Skills, knowledge and experience
Sound understanding of purchasing or procurement processes within a structured environment
Experience using procurement or ERP systems (e.g. D365 or similar)
Ability to accurately process transactional work with attention to detail
Valuable organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
Effective communication skills with ability to liaise with internal stakeholders and suppliers
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Problem-solving capability to address routine purchasing queries
