Most tax roles ask you to keep the compliance machine running. This one asks you to keep it running and rebuild it. You will be a senior voice in a tax function that is actively moving to better systems, automation and technology, and you will help decide what that looks like.
About our client
Our client is a well-established, internationally connected business supporting a large property investment portfolio across several sectors, including retail, residential, office and logistics. You will work with experienced finance leaders and global stakeholders on assets of real scale, in a team that backs its people with strong systems and genuine development opportunities.
The role
This is a Senior Tax Manager role, reporting to the Head of Tax APAC. You will have no direct reports, but you will lead and develop a sister tax team based in India through dotted line reporting, building their skills and the processes they work within. You will also work closely with the CFO, financial controllers, treasury, asset managers, auditors and external tax advisors.
What you will do
Own tax compliance for the portfolio, including Managed Investment Trust (MIT) and company returns, quarterly distribution and withholding tax calculations, current and deferred tax, PAYG instalments, FBT reviews and taxable income forecasting
Support acquisitions and disposals, including capital gains calculations, step plans, tax RFIs, depreciation and cost base work with quantity surveyors, and review of GST grouping and tax sharing agreements
Drive the move to better tax technology, working with Finance, the tax team and service providers to choose, implement and improve systems that lift accuracy,
timeliness and control
