What you'll be doing
This permanent position is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Respiratory Scientist, who would like to work in world-class Respiratory Medicine Unit, within a friendly, diverse Respiratory Medicine Team. The Respiratory Scientist (Physiologist) position is part-time (30hpw) working with children from 0-18 years.
The purpose of this position is to perform all Respiratory Function Investigations (ie. Spirometry, Lung Volumes, Diffusion Studies, Bronchial Challenge, Cardiopulmonary Exercise and Multiple Breath Washout testing) and Allergen skin prick testing as requested. The position requires the ability to work as part of a team in a busy clinical environment and manage high workloads. Problem solving skills and an ability to work, and communicate, with children is required.
The position includes participation in all laboratory Quality Assurance programs, research, clinical trials, some administrative work, assisting in policy and procedure documentation and a commitment to professional development in regards to all aspects of lung function testing.

BSc, BExPhys or equivalent
Experience working in a busy clinical environment and communicating effectively with a Multidisciplinary team, including Doctors and Nurses
>2 years experience working in a Respiratory Function Laboratory (experience in tests such as Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing, Multiple Breath Washout and Respiratory Oscillometry preferred)
Familiarity with medical software and the ability to troubleshoot clinical equipment
Previous experience working in Research and Clinical trials
