About Us
AEM Sheetmetal is a sheetmetal manufacturer in Wangara. We design and build custom products from start to finish: punched and laser cut, bent, welded, powder coated and assembled in-house for a range of industries. You'll see what you design get built on our floor, usually within weeks.
The Role
Monday–Friday, full time, with part-time or casual negotiable. You'll design products and get them ready for manufacture:
Designing sheetmetal parts and assemblies in SolidWorks
Programming our laser and turret punch using cncKad and AutoNest
Creating press brake bending sequences in Production Designer
Producing fabrication drawings and BOMs, and entering products into our ERP system
Working with the workshop to fix problems and improve designs for manufacture
We're open to junior and senior applicants, and we'll pay according to experience.
Mechanical engineering students looking for casual work experience also welcome to apply.
About You
SolidWorks experience is essential, including the sheetmetal tools (flat patterns, bend allowances)
Experience with cncKad, AutoNest, Production Designer or other CNC/CAM nesting software is highly regarded
Comfortable in a workshop environment, and keen to understand how parts are actually made
