Bucketty's have been serving up good beer and good times at their Brookvale brewpub since ****, and more recently opened the multifaceted venue Chalky's just down the road too.
They're looking to take on a duty manager to join the team working across both venues.

We're Hiring a Duty Manager
Chalky's is different. We're a bar, but also a pool hall, and also a karaoke lounge, and a sports bar with the biggest screen on the beaches. PLUS we have the coolest private bar this side of the bridge. We're reimagining hospitality in Brookvale with a completely unique concept, and we'd like you to be part of it.
Chalky's is part of the Bucketty's family – which means great beer, good humans, big laughs, and a whole lot of heart. And right now, we're on the hunt for a Bar Manager who brings energy, leadership, and a genuine love for people.

What You'll Be Doing
Running the Show (with the Head of Operations & Senior Bar Manager by your side)
Helping launch our new Chalky's Members Club! An exciting current initiative developed to get our fans coming back and creating a special experience for our people.
Keep the venue humming day-to-day with smooth operations and happy customers.
Lead shifts like a boss – from cash handling to stock levels to venue vibe.
Make sure the place is always clean, tidy, and looking its best.
Help keep menus fresh, systems tight, and drinks flowing.




Step up and run the venue when the Head of Operations & Senior Bar Manager need you to.
Keep the Super Duper Screen engaging. Work with the team to make sure we're playing the right sports at the right time, and if there's nothing on, chuck on a classic movie.
Oversee karaoke room and pool table transitions — especially on busy nights.
Leading Our People
Be the person your team looks up to — positive, fair, calm, hands-on.
Bring out the best in your crew through coaching, training, and culture-building.
Celebrate wins, address issues early, and keep communication open.
Help manage training, development, and keep morale sky-high.
Delivering an Epic Customer Experience
Make every guest feel welcome – learn their names and their favourite drinks.
Sort out any customer issues with professionalism and warmth.
Manage bookings, private parties, and functions to guarantee seamless execution.
Encourage positive reviews and build strong relationships with regulars.
Ensure sports are always showing (and the right sports!). When there's no game, curate the vibe.
Working With Our Kitchen
Support kitchen operations to keep food flowing quickly and looking great.
Make sure FOH staff know the menu and can upsell confidently.
Handle dietary requests smoothly and professionally.
Keep the food pass running like a well-oiled machine.
Keeping Everyone Safe
Lead with RSA best practice and create a safe environment for guests and staff.
Handle incidents, complete reports, and keep the Head of Operations & Senior Bar Manager updated.
Keep up with health and safety checks and procedures.




Support game days, beer launches, themed nights, and other events that keep Chalky's buzzing.
Offer weekly content ideas to marketing (we love behind-the-scenes bits).
Represent Chalky's and Bucketty's with pride at local community events.

Creative ideas that level up the venue experience.

What We're Looking For
Previous management experience in a busy bar/restaurant/entertainment venue.
Cocktail, wine, and craft beer knowledge.
You love being on the floor — chatting with guests and supporting your crew.
You enjoy pool, sports, and hosting a good game-day crowd.
Availability to work nights and weekends
