Neale Daniher MND Clinical Network Project Lead
At FightMND, we don't just fund research, we bring Australians together to fight the Beast, drive progress and help find effective treatments and, ultimately, a cure for motor neurone disease (MND).
As Australia's leading independent foundation dedicated to fighting MND, we combine urgency, innovation and community spirit to fund groundbreaking research, improve care and turn hope into action.
From researchers and clinicians to people living with MND, families, supporters and partners, we unite the community behind one shared goal: to accelerate progress towards a cure while improving outcomes for people living with MND today.
The Neale Daniher MND Clinical Network is a $40.1 million Australian Government-funded initiative led by FightMND. The Network is a nationally coordinated effort across four key areas, clinical trials, clinical care, data and workforce capability, with collaboration and sector input central to our delivery
About the opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Project Lead to join the Neale Daniher MND Clinical Network team.
This is an exciting chance to play a hands-on role in the early establishment of a significant national health initiative.
In the initial phase, you will work flexibly across priority projects and program functions, helping to turn strategic commitments into practical action. You will build momentum around time-critical activities, support engagement and co-design, and help establish strong foundations for effective program delivery.
As the Network develops, the role will transition into a focused project delivery position, with responsibility for assigned projects, budgets, agreements, reporting and stakeholder collaboration.
You'll be someone who enjoys bringing structure to complexity, building trusted relationships and turning ideas into practical, achievable outcomes.
You'll be responsible for:
1. Translating strategic objectives and funding commitments into practical project plans, milestones and deliverables.
2. Leading day-to-day project delivery, managing timelines, milestones, budgets and dependencies.
3. Coordinate internal teams, partners,
contractors and subject matter experts to deliver agreed outcomes.
4. Building strong relationships and a shared sense of purpose across participating sites and Network partners.
5. Managing project and partner agreements, including scope, deliverables, budgets and reporting requirements.
6. Leading consultation and co-design with clinicians, researchers, people living with MND, carers and lived-experience representatives.
7. Supporting collaboration, knowledge-sharing and practical problem-solving across participating sites and Network partners.
8. Monitoring progress, outcomes and key obligations, identifying and addressing risks and issues early.
9. Preparing clear project updates, briefings and reporting for program and government requirements.
10. Capturing evidence, outcomes and learnings to support continuous improvement and strengthen future delivery.
About you
You're an experienced project professional who combines strong project discipline with excellent stakeholder and relationship skills and can move comfortably between strategy and delivery.
You'll bring:
Experience leading projects or programs in health, research, clinical, service improvement, community or not-for-profit environments.
Strong project management capability, including planning, milestone tracking, risk and issue management, budget monitoring and reporting.
Demonstrated ability to translate program objectives, funding commitments or strategic priorities into practical project plans and delivery activity.
Experience supporting consultation, co-design, engagement and collaboration with diverse stakeholders, including clinicians, researchers, service providers, community representatives and people with lived experience.
Experience managing service providers, partner and participant agreements against agreed scope, deliverables, budgets,
reporting requirements and quality expectations.
Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear project updates, briefing material, reporting inputs and decision papers.
Ability to analyse project information, identify barriers, risk/issues, and develop practical solutions.
Demonstrated ability to work flexibly in a developing program environment, bringing structure to emerging work, and maintaining momentum through ambiguity.
It would be great if you also have
Experience leading the delivery of projects, programs or initiatives within health, community, research or related environments.
Experience bringing together and coordinating diverse stakeholders through clinical networks, communities of practice, advisory groups or other collaborative forums.
Experience working in partnership with people with lived experience to inform priorities, decision-making and program activities.
This is more than a project management role.
It's an opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant program working to improve access, coordination and capability across the MND sector, helping create better outcomes for people living with MND and their families.
You'll work alongside passionate people across research, clinical care, programs, communications and impact, while building relationships across Australia's MND and clinical research sectors.
Most importantly, you'll have the opportunity to turn collaboration into practical change for people living with MND.
Ready to make an impact?
If you are an experienced project professional who thrives on collaboration, enjoys solving complex problems and wants to contribute to a nationally significant initiative for people living with MND, we'd love to hear from you.
Applications close Tuesday 20th October ****. Applications will be reviewed as they are received, so we encourage you to apply early.
FightMND is committed to creating an inclusive and collaborative workplace and welcomes applications from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Together, we can fight for better outcomes for people living with MND.
