Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Registered Psychiatric Nurse 2 to join the Broadmeadows Adult Inpatient Unit (BIPU) team.
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our six main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.
About Mental Health Division:
Northern Health is the third largest mental health service in Victoria Northern.

We aim to provide strong clinical leadership to support all staff in the provision of qualified treatment and care by our integrated community teams, inpatient, and residential services.
About the Role:
This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality, person-centred mental health care within a contemporary acute inpatient setting.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive mental health assessments, develop and implement recovery-focused care plans, and deliver evidence-based nursing interventions to consumers experiencing acute mental health challenges.
Guided by Northern Health's values of Safe, Kind and Together, you will contribute to a therapeutic inpatient environment that supports recovery, promotes consumer and family engagement, and delivers safe, compassionate, and responsive care.
This role is ideal for a registered psychiatric nurse who is committed to clinical excellence, effective risk assessment and management, and ongoing professional development. You will have the opportunity to further develop your skills in acute mental health nursing while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality service delivery.
This is an Fixed term contract part time position working 64 hours per fortnight based within the Adult Inpatient Unit at Broadmeadows Hospital. Successful applicants must be available to work a rotating roster across seven days per week, including morning, afternoon, night and weekend shifts.

To be successful in this role you will have:
Registration as a registered nurse under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act *****)- AHPRA
Bachelor's degree in Psychiatric / Mental Health Nursing or equivalent, or, bachelor's degree in nursing plus a Postgraduate qualification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.
Proven experience working within an acute mental health setting.
Demonstrated experience in providing nursing care and patient support that is reflective of the recovery model of care in mental health.
Positive team player with excellent clinical and interpersonal skills
