National Accounts Specification Manager - Luxury Retail Stores Roll Outs

Melbourne or Sydney | Premium architectural and design products We're an Australian, design-led brand, and we're building a national accounts channel. We're looking for a Senior Account Executive to grow relationships with Australia's leading retail and hospitality groups.

You won't be starting from scratch. Our products, pricing, logistics, marketing and operations are already in place, and you'll work alongside an experienced business development team. Your job is to turn that foundation into long-term national accounts.

This role suits someone who knows how national store rollouts, retail development and premium fit-outs work, and who already knows the people behind them.

The role

You'll be based in Melbourne or Sydney, working with national retail and hospitality groups. You'll take each opportunity from first conversation through specification, nomination and commercial negotiation, then support the rollout from there.

You'll help shape our channel strategy with our senior business development leaders, using what you know about the market. Then you'll own turning that strategy into real accounts.

You won't be building a division on your own. You'll have a whole business behind you.

What you'll do

- Build and manage relationships with national retail and hospitality groups
- Work with Store Development, Property, Procurement, Design and Visual Merchandising teams
- Find and win work on new stores, refurbishments, upgrades and national rollouts
- Work with the designers and consultants who develop store concepts and specifications
- Guide programmes from concept and specification, through value engineering and nominated supplier status, to rollout
- Set programme pricing and account strategies that work commercially for both sides

- Build a solid pipeline of new national accounts
- Work with our product, operations, logistics and commercial teams so we deliver on every promise we make
- Share what you're hearing in the market, and challenge our strategy when it needs it
- Build trusted, long-term relationships, not one-off sales

About you

- You’ll ideally have 6+ years in business development, key accounts or national account management, with real experience in national retail, hospitality or store rollout programmes.
- You might be working in architectural lighting now, or in another premium category specified into commercial fit-outs: architectural products, furniture, flooring, surfaces, fixtures, hardware or other design-led building products.
- Most importantly, you know how national rollouts work in practice. You're comfortable talking about:
- concept stores and prototypes
- design and specification
- fit-out manuals and approved products
- nominated and preferred supplier arrangements
- stockholding and supply planning
- what it takes to support many sites across the country
- You have a current network in retail or hospitality development. You know who runs store development programmes, and you can open doors through relationships you've built over time.
- You're commercially minded and self-directed. You'll enjoy a role where the opportunity is proven but the playbook is still being written.

Experience we’d love to see

- You might hold a title like National Account Manager, National Business Manager, Key Account Manager, Strategic Accounts Manager, Major Accounts Manager, National Sales Manager, Business Development Manager (National Accounts) or Specification Manager.
- Experience selling premium, design-led products into national retail or hospitality will be highly regarded.
- This role is less suited to people whose background is mainly FMCG or grocery national accounts, or architectural specification without direct involvement in retail rollouts.
- The role can be Melbourne or Sydney-based, with around 2 to 4 weeks of interstate travel a year depending on clients and projects.
- You’ll join an established Australian business and help build something new.
- You won’t be inheriting a mature portfolio to maintain. You'll help land our first national accounts, shape how the channel grows, and build relationships that can become multi-year national programmes.
- You’ll have the freedom to open doors, with an experienced team and a solid business behind you.
