The Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority (GB CMA) is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Communications and Engagement Officer to help share our work with the community, partners, stakeholders and investors. This newly created position will play a key role in showcasing the people, partnerships and projects that deliver positive outcomes for our region.
Position details
- Classification: Band 7 ($86,632 - $98,495 pro rata, plus superannuation)
- Employment Type: Fixed term, 2 years
- Hours: 0.6 FTE (45.6 hours per fortnight)
About the role
Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Coordinator, you will develop engaging content and communication initiatives that strengthen awareness of GB CMA's work and impact across the catchment.
You will:
- Create engaging digital, written and visual content across a variety of channels.
- Develop and deliver communication campaigns and storytelling initiatives.
- Prepare media releases, newsletters, social media content, presentations and reports.
- Work closely with staff, project teams and partners to identify and promote success stories.
- Support stakeholder and community engagement activities.
- Foster positive relationships with media, community groups, Traditional Owners, government agencies and partner organisations.
- Attend events and activities across the region to capture and communicate outcomes and achievements
About you
You are a strong communicator with a passion for storytelling, engagement and creating content that connects with people.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience developing communication and engagement strategies and initiatives.
- Digital content creation skills, including photography and videography.
- Experience producing media releases, social media content, newsletters, reports and presentations.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- A relevant qualification in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, community engagement or a related field.
- A current driver's licence.
Experience working within the environmental, natural resource management, local government or public sector environment will be highly regarded.
