This is a true manufacturing management accounting role. You'll own the standard costs, BOMs and routings for a modern, highly automated production facility, and your analysis will go straight to the production, sales and executive teams who act on it. About the business
Our client is a well-established Western Australian manufacturer of high-value engineered building products, supplying the construction market nationally through its own distribution network. Production runs on state-of-the-art equipment sourced from around the world, and sustainability is central to the business, with products made from renewable, sustainably sourced raw materials.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll:
- Own the manufacturing accounting, maintaining standard costs, BOMs, routings and costing methodologies, and improving how costs are captured and reported
- Produce daily production reporting and weekly and monthly variance analysis covering recoveries, throughput, efficiencies and overheads
- Deliver profitability analysis by customer, product, state, channel and market segment, and support pricing and commercial evaluations- Partner with Production, Maintenance, Operations and Sales managers to hit cost reduction and efficiency targets
- Coordinate cycle counts and stocktakes,
keeping inventory valuation and controls accurate
- Support budgets, forecasts and ERP reporting enhancements, building models and tools that leadership relies on
About You
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce, and CA or CPA qualified (CIMA highly regarded)
- At least 5 years' experience as a Management Accountant in a medium-sized organisation, ideally in manufacturing or an industrial environment
- Solid cost accounting and manufacturing finance knowledge, including budgeting, forecasting and profitability analysis
- Advanced Excel and some financial modelling skills, plus solid experience with ERP systems and reporting tools
- The commercial acumen and communication skills to influence operational managers and build strong relationships across the business
- A continuous improvement mindset and the initiative to work independently Australian working rights, a current driver's licence and a recent National Police
