An established building products manufacturer in Bringelly, NSW are looking to appoint an experienced Maintenance Fitter to their site-based engineering team.
This is a great opportunity for a mechanically minded tradesperson looking to secure a stable Monday to Friday position, with an early start and early finish, while working within a large-scale industrial environment.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for keeping a range of production machinery and plant in good working order, responding to mechanical issues when they arise and helping prevent equipment failures before they impact production.
The position will involve a mixture of hands-on maintenance, mechanical repairs, equipment improvements and workshop-based work.
You'll be involved in:
- Carrying out scheduled servicing and mechanical inspections
- Diagnosing machinery issues and responding to equipment failures
- Replacing worn or damaged mechanical components
- Working on pneumatic and hydraulic equipment
- Mechanical repairs and adjustments to production machinery
- Welding, fabrication and general workshop duties
- Using machinery including lathes, milling machines and drills
- Installing bearings, shafts and other mechanical components
- Assisting with machinery upgrades and site improvement projects
- Working closely with production and other members of the engineering team
- Maintaining a high standard of safety across all maintenance activities
What I'm Looking For
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Mechanical Fitter who enjoys hands-on work and has experience maintaining industrial machinery.
Your background could come from manufacturing, heavy industry, mining, automotive, machinery or another mechanically intensive environment.
You'll ideally have:
- A recognised Mechanical Fitter trade qualification
- Previous industrial maintenance experience
- Strong ability to diagnose mechanical problems
- Good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Welding capability across MIG and TIG
- General fabrication skills
- Experience working with workshop equipment
- A practical approach to problem solving
- Solid safety awareness
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a wider team
Advantageous Experience or qualifications in any of the following would be beneficial:
- Building products or manufacturing
- Continuous production environments
- Forklift operation
- Confined Space
- Working at Heights
- First Aid
