Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Mobile Plant Mechanic Melbourne Western Suburbs | Permanent Full-Time | Workshop & Field Service
TRS Resourcing is recruiting an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Mobile Plant Mechanic for a permanent opportunities with an established businesses based across Melbourne’s western suburbs.
This position would suit a trade-qualified mechanics looking for variety across both workshop and field-based work, servicing, diagnosing and repairing a range of heavy equipment and mobile plant.
You’ll have the prospect to work independently, take ownership of your work and be supported by an experienced technical team.
The Role Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Servicing and repairing heavy equipment and mobile plant
- Mechanical fault finding and diagnostics
- Hydraulic and basic electrical troubleshooting
- Engine, transmission and component repairs
- Preventative and scheduled maintenance
- Conducting equipment inspections and identifying faults
- Attending breakdowns and completing onsite repairs when required
- Carrying out both workshop and field service duties
- Maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship
About You We are looking for someone with:
- An Australian-recognised qualification in Mobile Plant Technology, Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology or a related trade
- Previous experience working with heavy equipment, earthmoving machinery or mobile plant
- Strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge
- Confident diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
- The ability to work independently when required
- Good communication and time-management skills
- A strong commitment to workplace safety
- Full Australian working rights
Additional licences and experience across field service, fabrication or welding will be highly regarded but are not essential.
