Mechanical Fitter – Tanker Recent Build & Trailer Equipment
$58.50 per hour + Super + Travel Allowance + Overtime

TRS Resourcing is partnering with an established Australian-owned manufacturer specialising in fuel tanker manufacturing, servicing and heavy transport equipment.
We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter with exposure to pneumatic and electrical systems to join their workshop team.
This position is focused primarily on the mechanical fit-out and assembly of new-build tanker trailers, providing an excellent opportunity for a tradesperson who enjoys detailed assembly work, fault finding and working across multiple mechanical systems.
The Role Working within an experienced workshop team, you will be involved in the assembly, installation and final fit-out of specialised transport equipment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Mechanical fitting and assembly on new-build tanker trailers
- Installing pumps, valves, pipework and associated tanker components
- Installation and connection of pneumatic systems
- Assisting with electrical component installation and fit-out
- Fitting mechanical components and trailer equipment to specification
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and workshop documentation
- Mechanical, pneumatic and basic electrical fault finding
- Testing installed components and systems
- Completing modifications and repair work when required
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship and workplace safety
About You We are looking for candidates with:
- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or another relevant mechanical trade
- Strong mechanical fitting and assembly experience
- Experience working with pneumatic systems
- Exposure to electrical systems and components
- Hydraulic experience will be highly regarded
- Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a workshop team
- High attention to detail and quality workmanship
Experience within heavy vehicles, trailers, tanker equipment, transport manufacturing or specialised vehicle fit-out will be highly regarded.
