About the Position

Smith & Co is currently seeking reliable and mechanically minded Parts Assemblers to join an established automotive parts operation.

This hands-on position involves assembling automotive suspension components and accessories, checking finished products for quality, and preparing parts for packaging and distribution.

We're looking for individuals who are comfortable using hand tools, following technical instructions and working in a fast-paced workshop environment. A formal trade qualification is not required, making this an excellent opportunity for experienced Trade Assistants, Assembly Workers or mechanically minded candidates.

Accuracy and attention to detail are essential, as the components being assembled are safety-critical automotive parts.

What's in it for you

- $40 per hour
- Monday–Friday roster, 6:00am–3:30pm
- 1.5 hours of scheduled overtime each weekday
- Additional Saturday work when required, 6:00am–10:00am
- Hands-on work assembling automotive suspension components and accessories
- Opportunity to utilise and develop mechanical assembly skills
- No formal trade qualification required
- Wide-ranging duties across assembly, packaging and workshop operations

Key Responsibilities

- Assemble automotive suspension parts and accessories using tools and machinery
- Follow technical drawings, instructions and assembly specifications




- Inspect components and completed products to ensure quality standards are met
- Identify incorrect assemblies, damaged parts and product discrepancies
- Prepare finished components for packaging and distribution
- Assist with general packaging and warehouse-related duties
- Use computer systems to record production times, material usage and other information
- Rotate between assembly stations and manage materials as required
- Assist with basic maintenance and upkeep of assembly equipment
- Keep workstations clean, organised and compliant with safety requirements

Skills & Experience

- Previous experience in parts assembly, trade assisting, manufacturing or similar hands-on work highly regarded
- No trade qualification necessary
- Good mechanical aptitude and confidence using hand and power tools
- Ability to follow technical instructions and assembly procedures accurately
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control
- Basic computer skills for data entry and production records
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Physically capable of performing repetitive assembly and manual handling tasks
- Ability to meet production targets and work within set timeframes
- Reliable, safety-conscious and comfortable with early morning starts
