Position Overview

JB INTERIOR FITOUTS - A boutique joinery company specialising in residential joinery, kitchens and cabinetry, as well as commercial and office fitouts. The business delivers detailed joinery solutions across residential and commercial projects.

As a Cabinetmaker at JB INTERIOR FITOUTS, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, finishing and installing custom cabinetry and joinery for residential, kitchen, commercial and office fitout projects. This position requires strong technical cabinetmaking skills, accuracy, attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safe workmanship.

Position Responsibilities and Tasks

- Interpret drawings, work orders, specifications and measurements to determine dimensions, materials and construction requirements for custom joinery and cabinetry projects.
- Select and prepare timber, veneers, particleboard, laminates and other engineered materials suited to residential, kitchen, commercial and office fitout applications.
- Mark out, cut, shape and machine cabinet and joinery components accurately using hand tools, power tools and woodworking machinery.
- Fabricate cabinetry and joinery from drawings and specifications, ensuring components meet project dimensions, finishes and quality requirements.
- Assemble prepared components into cabinets, counters,



storage units, shelving and other custom joinery items for fitout projects.
- Fit hinges, locks, catches, drawer systems, shelves and associated hardware, checking alignment and smooth operation before completion.
- Install cabinetry and custom joinery on residential and commercial sites, including kitchens and office fitouts, in accordance with drawings and site requirements.
- Carry out accurate site measurements and make practical adjustments during installation to achieve precise fitting and high-quality finishes.
- Coordinate with supervisors, installers and other trades on site to support efficient sequencing, resolve fitout issues and meet project schedules.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, use tools and machinery responsibly, and inspect completed work to ensure a high standard of workmanship.

Qualifications and Skills

- Relevant qualification.
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Cabinetmaker
- Solid ability to interpret technical drawings, plans, specifications and measurements.
- Proficiency in cabinetmaking tools, power tools and woodworking machinery.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail and commitment to quality finishes.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while following workplace health and safety requirements.

Salary

The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $75,000 - $85,000 p.a plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
