This position sits within the Preservation & Maintenance team which is primarily responsible for maintaining and protecting infrastructure assets while enhancing and improving safety through delivery of maintenance, rehabilitation and various safety projects. It is critical in supervising engineering resources due to the mandatory requirement of Registered Professional of Queensland (RPEQ).

You will be required to act as Project Manager, as well as Contract Administrator, to ensure that quality and value for money has been achieved. You will need the ability to quickly acquire knowledge and understanding of policies and legislation for engagement of consultants and contractors, and the forms of contract used for this purpose.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Manage, assist, deliver and co-ordinate the delivery of pre-construction activities to the region on time and to budget. This includes managing preliminary investigations such as survey and geotechnical, all land resumption requirements, all design tender actions and manage concept design through to detail design and the tender process.
- Assist graduates, other engineers,



and technical staff to resolve technical issues on their projects and mentor them to deliver programs on time and to budget.
- Provide agreed customer service by attending to all public enquiries (which requires technical input) through appropriate channel and in a timely manner.
- As needed, assist other team members project managing construction projects.
- Undertake project management of construction projects to ensure delivery is achieved within scope, on time and to budget.
- Assess construction tenders and manage procurement phase.
- Apply a high level of understanding of contract administration to administer complex contracts and guide others.
- Provide leadership in safety and risk management on projects and coordinate project requirements with Road Operations teams to ensure effective network operations.
- As needed, manage, assist, deliver, co-ordinate and report on the delivery of Targeted Road Safety Program (TRSP) works, and Maintenance, Preservation and Environment (MPE) programs including routine maintenance works, rehabilitation works, and programmed maintenance works to the region on time and to budget.
