RPS is looking for a Graduate Surveyor to join our Survey team based in Yarrabilba.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent surveying graduate or someone in the early stages of their career who wants to build strong technical foundations, gain exposure to a broad range of projects and work towards registration with the Surveyors Board of Queensland.
You will be supported by experienced Surveyors and industry professionals while gaining practical experience across cadastral, development and infrastructure projects throughout South East Queensland.
The opportunity
Working alongside our experienced Survey team, you will develop your skills across both field and office-based surveying activities.
You will:
- Undertake fieldwork across a range of cadastral, development and infrastructure projects
- Assist with survey calculations, data processing and preparation of plans and documentation
- Gain experience using modern surveying equipment and technology
- Support projects from initial fieldwork through to final project deliverables
- Work closely with experienced Surveyors, Team Leaders and Survey Managers
- Develop your understanding of cadastral surveying requirements and professional standards
- Build your communication and client liaison skills as your experience develops
- Work towards registration with the Surveyors Board of Queensland with support from the RPS team
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with RPS quality and work health and safety standards.
About you
We are looking for someone who is keen to learn, enjoys working both outdoors and in the office and wants to build a long-term career in surveying.
You will ideally bring:
- A completed or near-completed recognised qualification in surveying
- An interest in cadastral, land development and infrastructure surveying
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to develop your technical skills
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Confidence working both independently and as part of a team
- A practical approach to problem solving
- An interest in progressing towards professional registration in Queensland.
- Experience with surveying equipment, 12D or other relevant surveying software through university, work experience or previous employment will be advantageous, but is not essential.
- A current Queensland manual driver's licence is required.
- You must have full Australian working rights, as sponsorship is not available for this position.
