We are seeking a dedicated Farm Hand to join our team in Walkamin, Queensland. This permanent, full-time position is ideal for individuals looking to start their career in the agriculture industry. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting daily farm operations, ensuring the efficient management of crops and livestock while adhering to safety protocols and workplace health and safety requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planting, cultivating, and harvesting of crops
- Operate and maintain farm machinery, including tractors and telehandlers
- Handle livestock, including poultry, with a focus on low-stress handling techniques
- Work collaboratively within a team to achieve farm objectives
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of farm equipment and machinery
- Monitor crop and livestock health and report any issues to management
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field
- Experience working in a team workplace on farms
- Experience operating farm machinery including tractors, light vehicles, telehandlers, and forklifts
- Experience in livestock handling including poultry and low-stress livestock handling
- Strong skills in maintenance and repair of farm equipment and machinery
- Ability to comply with safety protocols and workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements
