The Role
We are looking for an organised and customer-focused Customer Service & Bookings Agent to join our team in Kurri Kurri. The successful candidate will also provide annual leave and sick leave relief for our weighbridge team, with full training provided.
This is a highly interactive role, with approximately 80% of your day spent handling phone calls. We are looking for someone who is confident speaking with customers, can manage competing priorities and remains calm and solutions-focused in a busy environment.
This is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday
You will be required to work a minimum of 9 hours between 7:00am and 5:00pm, with flexibility to work either:
- 7:00am – 4:00pm, or
- 8:00am – 5:00pm
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a high volume of inbound customer phone calls and enquiries
- Responding to customer enquiries via email
- Processing and coordinating customer bookings
- Working closely with the Allocations team to ensure bookings are scheduled and managed effectively
- Providing accurate and timely information to customers
- Maintaining accurate booking and customer records
- Using Excel to manage, track and organise information
- Providing weighbridge relief during team members’ annual leave and sick leave
- Learning and using the WasteEdge platform, with full training provided
- Ensuring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail across all bookings and customer interactions
- Supporting the wider team with general administrative and customer service duties as required
About You
We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and confident dealing with customers in a high-volume environment.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in customer service, bookings or a high-volume call centre environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
- A calm and solutions-focused approach, particularly in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in the waste management or recycling industry is highly desirable
- Experience working within the building and construction industry would be advantageous
- Previous weighbridge experience is highly desirable, but not essential – full training will be provided
- Retail customer service experience will also be considered
