About the role:
Looking for an opportunity to build your finance career while making a genuine impact? As our Accounts Payable Officer, you'll play an important role in ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time, while supporting the smooth operation of Unitywater's finance function.
Working as part of a collaborative and customer-focused team, you'll manage invoice processing, supplier payments, reconciliations and financial administration activities while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and service delivery.
This is a fantastic 9-month max-term contract opportunity to gain exposure to a large and complex organisation, expand your ERP and finance systems experience, and build valuable relationships across the business that can open doors for future career opportunities.
In this role, you'll:
- Deliver high-quality accounts payable services, ensuring invoices, payments and employee reimbursements are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Partner with suppliers and stakeholders across the business, providing responsive support and building positive working relationships.
- Perform reconciliations and financial administration activities, helping maintain accurate records and strong financial controls.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to enhancements in financial systems, processes and ways of working.
- Develop your finance capability within a supportive team, gaining valuable experience across accounts payable, ERP systems and financial operations.

Must have
- Experience working in a high-volume Accounts Payable environment, with a strong understanding of end-to-end accounts payable processes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with experience processing invoices, reconciliations and financial transactions.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong customer service and stakeholder engagement skills,
with the ability to build positive relationships and respond effectively to supplier and internal stakeholder queries.
- Experience using ERP or financial systems, together with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Robust problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently.
Nice to have
- Experience using TechnologyOne or a similar ERP system.
- Experience working within a large or complex corporate environment.
- Experience processing corporate purchasing card transactions or employee reimbursements.
- Experience reconciling supplier statements and general ledger accounts.
- Exposure to process improvement initiatives within finance or accounts payable functions.
- Relevant qualifications in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline
